Enrollment

To enroll and to guarantee your place in the Academy of Film Arts workshop of your choice, please accept the Academy of Film Arts rules and regulations, and refund policy. Then proceed to the registration page, complete the admission form and submit your tuition fee.

Tuition refund requests must be in writing and postmarked 30 days before scheduled start of class. All tuition will then be refunded except a non-refundable $100.00 registration fee.

Academy of Film Arts reserves the right to use a student’s likeness or their films in brochures, advertising, the web, and any other promotional or educational purpose.

All dates, locations, curriculum and tuition are subject to change.

Students must be 18 or over. (If you are between 14 to 17 years of age, please see our class schedule for teenagers under the eight day course.) Students under the age of 18 must have the parental permission, medical consent, and liability release signed by their parents and mailed to: Academy of Films Arts, Inc. 137 North Larchmont Boulevard, #709, Los Angeles, California 90004.

Participation in the eight-day immersion course is limited to
fifteen students.

Our eight-day immersion course will have students working a minimum of eight (8) hours per day with some days extending to fifteen (15) hours per day. It makes for exhausting yet rewarding work. Meals will be provided for students during days three, four, five, and six of the course.

Our two-day course series will have students working a minimum
of ten (10) hours per day.

Our courses are at various locations in Los Angeles and the surrounding metropolitan area.

Students are responsible for all travel, meals, accommodations,
and transportation expenses.

School Rules and Regulations:
1. It is agreed that the conditions, rules and regulations printed on this License or any attachments hereto, and in any Student manual, as any of such may be amended from time to time, are made a part of this agreement as though fully incorporated herein, and Student agrees to be bound by such. It is understood and agreed that Academy of Film Arts is not the owner of the Premises and is not responsible for the providing of any services to the Student. Academy of Film Arts shall not be liable to the Student if any services are not provided by the owner of the Premises and the Student agrees to hold harmless and indemnify Academy of Film Arts against any claim with respect thereto. 2. Student must pay the Academy of Film Arts in full before Student is permitted to attend any course(s). If Student does not attend his/her course(s), Academy of Film Arts will refund all students tuition except a $100.00 non-refundable admission processing fee. 3. Academy of Film Arts shall have sole control over admission policies at all times. 4. The total liability of the Academy of Film Arts in connection with this agreement shall be limited to payments made by the Student to the Academy of Film Arts under the terms of this agreement. The Student agrees to indemnify Academy of Film Arts, Inc. and the owner of any location used in course(s) or the filmmaking process against, and hold them harmless from, any claim or liability of whatever nature, which may arise or accrue by reason of the acts or negligence of Academy of Film Arts, Inc., their agents, servants, employees, guests, invitees and/or trespassers, and/or the use by the student of the Premises, including but not limited to loss, theft, damage or destruction of goods, injury to the student, servants, guests, invitees and/or third parties; the Student acknowledges that it shall have insurance to cover any medical problem/accident that may arise. 5. All applicable fire and safety laws and regulations must be strictly observed by Student. Smoking in classrooms and/or on sets is strictly forbidden. Use of any flammable object by students is strictly forbidden. 6. The Student shall not damage, nor mar, nor in any manner deface, Academy of Film Arts equipment, materials, or premises. The student shall be liable for any such damage including but not limited to those to the building floors, walls and/or any other property and will pay to Academy of Film Arts upon demand such sum as shall be necessary to restore said Premises. 7. Mechanical or electrical devices which produce sound, including but not limited to mobile phones, pagers, ipods, etc and must not be operated by Student during class or on set so as not to disrupt the filmmaking process. 8. Academy of Film Arts reserves the right to eject any objectionable person or persons from the classroom or the set; the Student hereby waives any right and all claims against Academy of Film Arts in connection therewith. 9. By registering for and/or attending Academy of Film Arts in any capacity (including, but not limited to student or speaker) you agree that Academy of Film Arts, Inc. is not liable for any personal injury, death, theft or other torts that may occur at Academy of Film Arts. 10. Student understands that all personal property must be removed at the end of their class in accordance with the desires of Academy of Film Arts. Academy of Film Arts reserves the right to remove or to have its designees remove from the Premises all effects remaining in the Premises after the time designated by the Academy of Film Arts at the sole expense of the Student and to store the same at the sole expense of the Student, and without any liability therefore on the part of Academy of Film Arts, or its designees. 11. Academy of Film Arts shall not do or permit to be done anything in or upon any portion of the Premises or bring or keep anything therein or hereupon which will in any way increase conditions of an insurance policy upon the Premises or any part thereof, or in any way increase the rate of fire or public liability insurance upon the Premises or on property kept therein, or in any way obstruct or interfere with the rights of others on the Premises, or injury or annoy them. 12. Student shall not permit the Premises to be used for any improper, immoral or objectionable purpose, including but not limited to the use of X-rated adult, R-rated, and/or sexually provocative pictures, posters, literature, and/or programming. Sales of such are prohibited during the scheduled timeframe of class. Infraction of any of these rules, at Academy of Film Arts option, will result in Students rights hereunder shall immediately terminate. 13. The Student will keep classroom premises and movie sets tidy and free of garbage on the floors and in the walkways. 14. Students shall not use or permit the use of alcoholic beverages on the Premises. 15. Academy of Film Arts reserves the right to reject, eject, or prohibit any student in whole or in part, with or without giving cause. 16. Students are responsible for all of their own travel, meals (when not provided by Academy of Film Arts), accommodations, and transportation expenses. 17. Deposit of the Students payment does not constitute acceptance of this License. This License shall not be binding until accepted by Student via the I agree button below. 18. Student agrees to pay interest at a rate that is not greater of 12% per annum, or the maximum allowable by law, on all moneys due Academy of Film Arts. Student further agrees to pay any collection costs, including but not limited to, court cost, collection costs and attorney's fees (in the amounts stated above). 19. Academy of Film Arts reserves the right to use a student's likeness or their films in brochures, advertising, the web, and any other promotional or educational purpose. 20. Student agrees that Academy of Film Arts owns all materials included but not limited to scripts, and student films made, produced and filmed during the Academy of Film Arts course(s)/workshops. Academy of Film Arts also owns and holds the rights, copyrights, licenses, trademarks, and domains to all student made projects during Academy of Film Arts course/workshops. Student agrees that he/she will not enter or attempt to enter any student made films/properties of Academy of Film Arts into any film festivals of their own accord. Academy of Film Arts entrance of student film is strictly and solely up to Academy of Film Arts discretion. 21. These rules may be amended at any time by Academy of Film Arts, and all amendments so made shall be binding on the Student. 22. In the event of any breach of this agreement, in whole or in part by the Student, the Student agrees to pay to Academy of Film Arts, in addition to any other payments provided for in this agreement, an attorney's fee equal to no less than twenty (20) percent of the damages of the Academy of Film Arts. The courts of the State of California located in Los Angeles County are the sole forum in connection with any and all claims by the Student. Academy of Film Arts shall have the option to arbitrate any claim that either party may have hereunder. No action for any reason hereunder may be commenced by the Student in any jurisdiction other than the State of California, County of Los Angeles. The Student agrees that any and all notices and pleadings in connection with any claim hereunder may be served upon Academy of Film Arts by mail at the address designated herein. The Student consents to such service as being sufficient to establish personal jurisdiction over the Student in Los Angeles County, California. 23. This agreement, its interpretation, and any and all claims in connection therewith shall be governed by the substantive and procedural laws of the State of California with the same force and effect as if this agreement were entered into and carried entirely within California State. 24. If any provision of this agreement is, or becomes at any time for any reason whatsoever, unenforceable or invalid, no other provision hereof shall be affected thereby. 25. This agreement constitutes the complete and entire agreement of the parties and may not be altered or modified in any way except by in writing and signed by an authorized officer of Academy of Film Arts.
